DANCING on Ice is set to make a huge comeback next year, but will Great British Bake Off star Candice Brown be swapping the kitchen for the ice rink?
The much-loved ITV skating show is set to make a big comeback to our screens, with the news having been officially confirmed by skate legends Torvill and Dean recently. With the hype around Dancing on Ice building, a whole plethora of famous faces have been tipped to taking to the ice when the show returns in 2018.
One of those faces is Candice Brown, winner of last year’s Great British Bake Off and author of cookbook Comfort.
But will Candice be hanging up her apron and donning a pair of ice skates all in the name of entertainment?
Candice exclusively opened up to OK! Online about the rumours and unfortunately for Dancing on Ice fans, she was quick to freeze the reports.
She told us: “I think the rumour says it all really. I’ve been engaged 75 times this year, I’ve been married 14 times, I’ve got several different engagement rings, I’ve got 45 jobs, I’m going into the jungle, I’m doing Strictly, I’m doing Dancing on Ice all at the same time!So yeah, I’m a busy girl! I’ve managed to even squeeze in an afternoon tea between all of that!”
Candice, who was well known for adding a touch of glamour in the Bake Off tent with her fabulous assortment of lipstick shades, added: “It’s not something I’ve really thought about at the moment.
“With everything with my book, recipe testing, writing for the Sunday Times, testing recipes for the afternoon tea; it’s something that’s very different to what’s in my comfort zone which is baking and that is taking up quite a lot of my day at the minute.”
Indeed, Candice has been very busy bee indeed, having recently joined forces with Dalloway Terrace to launch an exciting new Afternoon Tea menu bursting with traditional favourites and some somewhat more creative and exciting flavour combinations including a feta and courgette scone with thyme clotted cream!
Speaking about her new project, she said: “To be able to do an afternoon tea in a hotel like this is just wonderful. The place is just gorgeous, I don’t think I could think of anywhere better that I’d like to do this. I feel so lucky and it was one of the things I was most looking forward to when we started talking about it a while ago.
“I got spend some time with the chefs in the kitchen and I really enjoyed it - I asked about a thousand questions!
“It was amazing to get advice from actual real chefs, they probably thought ‘sodding hell, who’s this cowgirl we’ve got here!’”
